11 FREE Things to do With Your Dog in LA

Los Angeles is a dog-lover’s paradise. It’s pretty much always sunny here and there are endless opportunities for outdoor exploration. The people are friendly, the food is amazing, and yes, there really are celebrities everywhere. There are more free, dog-friendly activities in Los Angeles than you think. Here are eleven of our favorite.

1. Hang out at Lake Hollywood Dog Park

The Lake Hollywood Dog Park considered the cream-of-the-crop of L.A. dog parks. It’s not off-leash (we won’t tell if you won’t!) but there is a killer view of the Hollywood sign.

2. Amoeba Music

Browse for old school vinyl at the world’s largest independent record store, Amoeba Music, where pets are welcome and Nickleback requests are not. rosies-dog-beach

3. Rosie’s Dog Beach

Do what the locals do and take your pooch to Rosie’s Dog Beach for a stroll in the sand. Be sure to protect your dog’s skin from saltwater if you decide to take a dip!

4. Stroll through the Art’s District

Stop in at a dog-friendly brewery or two along the way. Not free, technically, but when has a craft beer ever not been worth it?

5. Laurel Canyon Dog Park

Go celeb-spotting with your furry friend at the Laurel Canyon Dog Park in Studio City, a hot spot for the who’s who. Watch out for coyotes at dusk, though.

6. Muddy Paw Coffee

Meet a friend at Muddy Paw Coffee, where the official slogan is, “Buy a cup, save a pup!” Dogs are the real V.I.P.s here.

7. Eat See Hear

Catch an outdoor movie put on by Eat See Hear on one of the area’s notoriously temperate nights. Free dog treats upon entry! walk-of-fame

8. Hollywood Walk of Fame

Measure your paw prints against famous celebrities’ on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where leashed dogs are always welcome.

9. Westfield Century City

Go window shopping at Westfield Century City, an open-air, dog-friendly shopping destination. Some individual stores even welcome pups!

10. Escondido Falls

If you find yourself near Malibu, take your dog to see the “secret” of Escondido Falls, one of SoCal’s most over-the-top waterfalls.

11. Pawsapalooza

Check out the Pawsapalooza festival in West Hollywood if you’re in town during late spring. Food, crafts, dogs…need we say more?
