Is your hound ready for the holidays? If you’re off to a holiday gathering, why not make sure Fido is in festive attire? Below, we’ll share some of our favorite holiday costume ideas for your canine.

Reindeer

Does your blue nose pitbull look like he could use a red nose instead? In which case, a reindeer costume might be the perfect pick for your pooch. This costume can easily be achieved with the help of some inexpensive reindeer antlers from your local pet store or online retailer. With a quick outfit change, Spot will be ready to lead Santa’s sleigh.

Turkey

We have a lot to be thankful for, and our dogs are certainly near the top of that list. If your pooch is revving up for turkey day, why not give him some fun feathers to celebrate the occasion? You can also give your pooch some fun Thanksgiving-themed treats: Your pup can safely enjoy raw sweet potato slices or raw unseasoned green beans.

Elf

Does Santa’s little helper roam around your home? Enjoy dressing up your dog in an elf costume that’s sure to put a smile on everyone’s faces. If you have multiple dogs, you could have one dress up as an elf and another as Santa himself.

Ornament

Dogs certainly decorate our lives, so why not give them a show stopping outfit? Fido will look great dressed up as an ornament, especially next to the Christmas tree.

Gingerbread

If you have a sweetheart at home, it’s only natural that you dress up your pooch as gingerbread. Your dog will look downright adorable as this traditional sweet treat.

Festive Bandana

When in doubt, you can always give Fluffy a festive banana to spruce up his holiday attire without having to invest in an entire costume. This is one of the best picks especially if your pooch isn’t a huge fan of wearing clothes in the first place.

Dreidel Dog Costume

If your hound is looking forward to Hannukah, you can’t get much better than a dreidel dog costume. Your pooch will love being a keen participant in this special celebration. Best of all, he can wear it for 8 days in a row if he likes!

Tree

The Christmas tree is an emblematic symbol of the holiday season, so why not have your pooch carry on the tradition? Your Christmas tree companion will look absolutely adorable covered in festive holiday attire.

Bowtie

If your dog isn’t too keen on wearing full costumes, you can always add a bowtie to his collar or harness. This way, your pooch will stay super comfortable while still adding a little bit of holiday cheer.

Dress

You can’t go wrong with formal wear! Have your pooch put on his Sunday best for the holiday celebration. Your guests are sure to fall in love with your dashing, dapper dog.

Santa

Ho Ho Ho! If your dog is ready to bring Christmas joy to everyone around him, a Santa hat and beard might be his choice costume. If your pooch isn’t loving the entire outfit, you can always opt for a Santa themed bandana to keep spirits high.

Sweater

When in doubt, find your pooch a classic holiday sweater. This is bound to look absolutely adorable, plus, it will keep your canine cozy while out in the cold. If you have a smaller dog who needs extra warmth, look for sweaters that are fleece-lined or have an outer layer of thermal protection. Alternatively, you can always stack multiple sweaters on top of one another— The layered look looks great on Lassie!

Your pooch is bound to look absolutely adorable with any of these festive costumes. Enjoy the holiday season with the people and pets you love most.
