Summer Pupsicle Recipes to Cool Your Pet Off

What kind of dog wouldn’t love keeping cool with a delicious frozen treat this summer? If you think your dog deserves the best, it’s high time you made her one of these yummy pupsicles…plus, you get to say the word “pupsicle!”
Yogurty Peanut Butter Pops
1 cup creamy, low-sugar peanut butter 1 cup plain, low-sugar yogurt Water as needed Blend peanut butter and yogurt in a blender. Add water as needed to create a smooth, loose consistency. Freeze into popsicle molds or in an ice cube tray. These are delicious enough to eat yourself, plus they’re packed with protein! Remember to choose peanut butter without xylitol in it, and with as little sugar and salt as possible. If your dog’s particularly sensitive to dairy, it’s best to choose a different recipe.
Pineapple Chicken Pops
1 cup low-sodium chicken broth 8oz. canned pineapple (no sugar added) or 1 cup chopped fresh pineapple Water or juice as needed Blend pineapple until smooth. Add chicken broth and water or juice if needed to loosen the mixture. Freeze solid. Keep your popsicles as low-sugar as possible by choosing juice and fruit with no added sugar. Keep sodium in mind, too! The more water or juice you add to your popsicles, the more hydrating they’ll be.
Coconut Watermelon Bites
1 cup chopped watermelon, no seeds 1 cup full-fat coconut milk, no sugar added Blend watermelon until smooth. Slowly add in coconut milk until entire mixture is blended. Freeze into small popsicle molds or into small Tupperware containers.
Pumpkin Banana Pops
1 cup plain, low-sugar yogurt 1 can pumpkin puree (no sugar, no spices) 1 whole ripe banana Use a fork to smash the banana in a bowl. Add in the pumpkin puree and plain yogurt – stir until well blended. A few chunks are fine! Freeze into popsicle molds. This is a great treat if your dog’s diet needs more fiber! Pumpkin is fabulous for dogs.
